As the SQL Server Team Lead at H&R Block my job is to provide technical expertise in the planning, design, implementation, and maintenance of SQL server database management systems that support H&R Block business applications. This includes the installation and maintenance of the DBMS Software. In addition to providing day-to-day monitoring, optimizing, database maintenance and developer support. Develop backup and recovery procedures both from an application view point as well as disaster recovery. Define and administer database security requirements.
As the Team Lead in the administration of over 100 SQL Server instances, starting in 2002 with 15 SQL Servers I have grown with product, seeing it evolve from a departmental reporting database to an enterprise database running many of the day to day operations of the business. During this time the scope of management of these servers and instances has grown from a staff of one to a complete department of four DBA's and a data modeler. The administration of these servers has encompassed the standard DBA Tasks of Development, Tuning and replication to include the management of growth, capacity, long term planning and costs.
Recent major tasks include leading a SQL Server consolidation project using HP Polyserve Clustering technology to provide Consolidation, High Availability and capacity on demand, 64 Bit SQL Server Environments and Conversion of SQL Server 2000 to 2005. Evaluating SQL Server 3rd party vendors and culturing a relationship with Microsoft to ensure SQL Server resources are properly utilized

As a Senior Consultant at
Quilogy my job is to provide a comprehensive background in all areas of the
software development life cycle. In this role I have provided consulting
services to Quilogy's clients in the roles of Business Analyst, Database
Analyst and in a Mentoring role for other development teams. As a Database
Analyst I have designed and integrated legacy AS400 DB2 systems with Microsoft
SQL Server. I have designed data load and replication procedures between Oracle
and Microsoft SQL Server in a distributed environment. While consulting as a
Business Analyst my role was to document the feasibility of implementing a new
web site using the Universal Modeling Language. I have mentored other

Manager / technical lead for DST FAN Mail, Vision Mutual Fund Gateway (Back
office / administration product only) and Consolidated Portfolio Services
Products. Primary duties are to enhance and maintain the products, operating
hardware, and appraise management of new technologies and solutions. Initial
task was the conversion of FAN Mail from a FoxPro 2.0 DOS Email application to
an Internet enabled application using FTP in a Windows NT and Unix environment.
Other projects included the launch of the new Consolidated Portfolio Services
Application and the creation of the Vision Administration programs. Operating
environments used were Windows NT 4.0, Unix and MVS. Strong background in the
Visual Studio development Environment ( Visual C++, Visual Basic and Visual
FoxPro ), Visual Source Safe and Java. Database tools used are DB2 Universal
Database and Visual FoxPro.

administration of system policies and procedures, training and troubleshooting.

administrator for 2d FSSG Disbursing Office, I directed and designed white work
tracking systems and other labor saving programs. I was involved with
coordinating the development and implementation of an automated disbursing
system. This system was used to track all documents and related work within the
office. Responsible for installation, setup, and configuration of all new
hardware and software. Maintained database of all system hardware within the
Disbursing Office. Responsible for accurately computing Military pay and
Allowance of active duty Marines. Conducted classes concerning Military pay and
allowances to Marines and their dependents. PC software utilized was FoxPro,
dBase and Lotus Smartsuite.
